The Arkansas School for Mathematics, Sciences and the Arts (ASMSA) is a residential high school for students in the 11th and 12th grades. ASMSA is a state-funded school so expenses such as tuition, books, and room and board are paid by the state of Arkansas. The school specializes in educating gifted and talented Arkansas students as well as training and supporting public school teachers statewide.
Created in 1991 by the Arkansas Legislature, the school is nationally recognized for its math, science, and computer science programs but it also offers humanity, arts and foreign language courses. ASMSA students receive a well-rounded education and leave ready for any college major--even non-science and non-math majors.
The school is renowned as one of the top public residential high schools in the nation.
