Summer is not the showiest of seasons in the Whittington Valley. By way of comparison, Fall arrives with a boisterous explosion of red, orange and yellow foliage. Winter, with its sudden snowstorms, can instantly transform the Valley into a pristine white wonderland. Even the arrival of Spring, with its vibrant bursts of effusive greenery and showy bright flowers, quickly captures one’s attention. However Summer is more subtle, a time of quiet maturation. But in its own way, Summer is quite beautiful. The tree canopies fill in, providing cooling shade from the often overzealous sun. Infrequent late blooming flowers are a restrained reward for hardworking and intrepid gardeners. And the grass grows a little greener and a little taller.
Summer in the Valley is also a time for people to enjoy the out-of-doors. With warmer temperatures, children come out to play in the Valley's three public parks, adults enjoy open air concerts and families gather to share personal milestones.
