NEWS-- Fire Marshall Issues Burn Ban

On May 16th, 2012, the Hot Springs Fire Marshall issued a burn ban for all parts of the city.  The unseasonably hot and dry weather over the past three weeks has left brush susceptible to wild fires.  The ban will be lifted when an appreciable amount of rain has been received and the risk of fire danger is lessened.

The City of Hot Springs issued the following statement regarding the burn ban: "Beginning Wednesday, May 16, a burn ban will be in effect for the City of Hot Springs.  This is based on the potential of low fuel moisture levels, low humidity and elevated winds.  The burn ban prohibits all controlled burning within city limits and will be in effect as long as these conditions are present.  Information on burn ban status will be available at 321-6977."
